Private Beta Terms
Effective date: November 2026 · Supplements the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Thank you for testing localctx during the Apple Silicon Hardware Beta Program. These Private Beta Terms supplement our Terms of Service and govern rolling hardware beta cohorts.
1. Beta License Grant
- Complimentary Pro Entitlements: Every invited and activated beta tester receives full Pro features (unlimited repositories and local NVMe cache files, compact E4B and large 26B-A4B models, git hooks, and localhost server) on up to 3 Apple Silicon Macs at zero cost throughout the private beta plus 12 full months after the public launch date.
- 48-Hour Founding Early Access: Beta testers receive a private invite link 48 hours before public checkout opens to claim one of the 1,200 Founding subscriptions ($150/yr locked rate, up to 3 Macs) if desired. Your complimentary 12-month post-launch Pro beta license remains active whether or not you purchase a Founding subscription.
- Post-Beta Fallback: At the end of the 12-month post-launch period, if you do not have a paid Pro or Founding license, your CLI transitions non-destructively to the Free tier (1 active repo, 65,536 tokens).
2. Pre-Release Software Expectations
Beta channel builds (4.6.x-beta) are active engineering builds. During the beta:
- Builds may crash, restart background daemons, or change on-disk local cache schemas (requiring an automatic local re-index);
- Latency and citation accuracy are actively being tuned on M1 or newer Macs (across M1–M6 and 16 GB–512 GB configurations); and
- You should always review file citations and git diffs before committing or deploying code edited by an agent.
3. No NDA — Honest Benchmarking Permitted
There is no non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on the localctx beta. Honesty is our strategy: you are welcome to discuss localctx publicly, run your own benchmarks, and publish both wins and failure cases. We ask only two operational safeguards:
- Keep your personal activation key (
LCX-...) and single-tester install link (/i/<token>, valid 14 days / 10 uses) private to your own Macs; and - Note the localctx version number (e.g.
4.6.0-beta.1) and Mac chip/RAM when sharing benchmark numbers so results stay reproducible.
4. Feedback and Bug Reports
If you submit bug reports, crash notes, D7 survey answers, or feature suggestions via localctx feedback, GitHub, Slack, or email, you grant ApollosWave LLC a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback into localctx without obligation or compensation. Your source code and private repository details are never requested or collected.
